Naviance prerequisites for Future plan

• Customers must have Naviance District Edition. Follow the PowerSchool process to request a district site if needed.

• Parent and guardian data must be imported into Naviance using the PowerSchool data integration.

• The same single sign-on (SSO) provider must be configured in both Naviance and PowerSchool SIS.

SSO options

Use PowerSchool SIS as the Identity Provider

No SSO setup is required in PowerSchool SIS. Only the setup for the Naviance SSO plugin is required.

Use a Different Identity Provider

If using another identity provider, SSO must be configured in both Naviance and PowerSchool SIS.

PowerSchool SIS prerequisites for Future plan

• Customers must use student contacts in PowerSchool SIS and identify parents and guardians with the Custody or Lives With flags.

• Parents and guardians must have an active access account in PowerSchool SIS.

• Contacts must have either the Custody or Lives With flag associated with their record in PowerSchool SIS.

MyPowerHub prerequisites for Future plan

The Future plan link must be active for parents, students, or both.

Implementation steps

1. Set up parent SSO in both PowerSchool SIS and Naviance.

2. Choose a date and time to import usernames and deploy parent access to Naviance. This import triggers the default account activation email.

3. Notify parents and guardians to expect the activation email before enabling access.

4. Configure the PowerSchool data integration for parents and guardians. Mapping a username activates their accounts.

5. Optionally, add a Naviance bookmark URL to the apps menu in MyPowerHub to provide direct access to Naviance.
