Login Management

Before creating user accounts, decide how staff, students, parents and guardians will log in to Naviance.

Naviance offers several login options:

Direct login to Naviance with a school or district-assigned email and a staff-managed password.

Native LoginDirect login to Naviance Student with an email or username and a student-managed password.

Clever SSOSingle sign-on (SSO) login via Clever, if using Clever to automate the secure transfer of student or staff rosters to Naviance.

SAML SSOSSO via Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), which permits an Identity Provider (IDP) to exchange authentication and authorization data with Naviance, a service provider (SP).

Guest AccessDirect login to Naviance Student to access a limited number of features.Guests

After deciding the login method to use:

  • Determine the data fields that you must import to support the selected login.
  • Update Naviance and Naviance Student settings that support the specified login.
You must activate Naviance Student before students, parents, and guardians log in with the selected option.
