Plan Your Implementation
Successful implementation of Naviance Test Prep starts with a plan. Follow these steps to develop an implementation plan for your school or district.
Determine your Rollout Strategy
Consider your existing test prep instruction, and then determine, prepare for, and communicate your rollout strategy.

Form an Implementation Team
Form an implementation team to assist with your Test Prep rollout.
- Counselors can lead the Test Prep implementation team and delegate activities. They can introduce Test Prep to students, parents, and guardians via information sessions. After the students start working in Test Prep, counselors can continue communicating with them through Naviance.
- Teachers can use Test Prep in the classroom. They can identify areas for improvement for their students using or which students are progressing through their Test Prep courses using Test Prep reports. Teachers can also make announcements to the students in their course.
- Parents can be proctors for in-class practice tests or keep students accountable when completing Test Prep at home.
- Student ambassadors can provide motivation and assistance to students as they go through Test Prep.
Assign Responsibilities
Assign responsibilities to your implementation team, including:
- Configure Test Prep user settings in Naviance.
- Introduce Test Prep to students.
- Communicate to students and parents via e-mail.
- Create a welcome message on the Naviance Student home page introducing Test Prep.
- Schedule time in class for students to take a full-length practice test in a simulated test environment.
- Designate Test Prep student ambassadors to provide training and support to other students.
- Implement an incentive program for students.
Incentive Ideas
- Distribute homework passes to students who completed all lessons and quizzes in their Test Prep weekly schedule.
- Randomly draw a name from a list of active Test Prep students to be the Test Prep Student of the Month.
- Throw a pizza party for the entire class if all students log in to Test Prep at least twice a week.
- Enter students in a raffle drawn at the end of the course for each log in to Test Prep.
- Host an awards banquet for students who successfully complete a Test Prep course and acknowledge the following students at the banquet:

- Send emails to students and parents explaining Test Prep benefits.
Set Deadlines

Test Prep Study Tips

Get enough sleep. | As the test date approaches, make sure you are on a regular sleep cycle. Keeping a regular, healthy sleep cycle helps you stay healthy, focused, and energized and improves your concentration. |
Eat a nutritious meal. | Eat breakfast and bring water and healthy snacks with you to help renew mental and physical energy during study breaks. |
Practice good time management. | Follow the Naviance Test Prep study tasks to manage your study time. |
Find a study partner. | A study partner can help keep you accountable and make study time more fun. |
Learn to use the process of elimination. | Try not to guess the answer. Use your study materials to look up the answer if you are unsure. |
Answer practice questions and take full-length test before the test date. | Naviance Test Prep full-length tests are actual timed tests that simulate a test environment. Practice under test day conditions by turning off you cell phone, television, or music to become accustomed to working within that environment and decrease your nerves on test date. |
Use your enhanced vocabulary outside of study time. | Use what you learn from Test Prep in everyday conversations to help you remember the meaning of the words. Say the words aloud to understand pronunciation and be more conscious of the new words. |
