Enhanced student roster view

Naviance is releasing a new Student Roster experience that makes it easier to locate student records and perform advanced searches using multiple filter combinations. This update is designed to improve efficiency for users working with large or complex datasets who need more flexibility in how they find information.

With this enhancement, users can quickly narrow down results and access the exact group of students they need without manual workarounds. Over time, this will support more precise searching and reduce time spent navigating rosters. The new experience is optional—customers can try it and opt out at any time.

Work-Based Learning Partner Disconnection

Naviance built a Partner Portal to support its new Work-Based Learning system. As part of ongoing system management, Naviance recognizes that there may be instances where continued connections with certain Partners are no longer desired. To address this need, Naviance is introducing the capability to disconnect from Partners. When a disconnection occurs, ownership of Partner opportunities will be reassigned. These opportunities will either transfer to other Partners within the same organization or, if no such Partners exist, will revert to Naviance’s ownership. Following the disconnection, Partners will receive a PDF summary outlining the engagements they supported for students.

Course Planner Staff and Student Updated User Experience

Naviance will release a series of enhancements to the Course Planner experience for both staff and students, addressing longstanding feedback and feature requests that have accumulated over the past several years. This first release will deliver significant updates to the staff-side user experience across key areas, including Subject Areas, the Course Catalog, Plans of Study, Area Specializations (formerly Career Pathways), and Configurations. In addition, a fully redesigned student-side experience, aimed at providing a more intuitive and actionable course planning process, will also be coming out. Across both staff and student workflows, users will notice a variety of enhancements, ranging from improved search functionality across the platform to new capabilities, such as scheduled publishing and updates. The release will also introduce expanded configuration options, including the ability to approve plans from any status, and a simplified and more guided course selection experience for students.

Alongside these new features, there will be several updates to streamline functionality. Students will no longer have the ability to favorite courses. Subject Areas will no longer be associated with CSSC codes, and Plans of Study will require both publishing and updating, eliminating the option to publish alone. Additionally, Clusters and Pathways will be renamed to Areas and Specializations to reduce confusion with Career Clusters and Pathways. A configuration option will remain available for institutions that wish to customize these labels. At the time of release, Naviance will provide a comprehensive set of release notes outlining all changes to ensure transparency and readiness for users.
Looking ahead, Naviance will continue to work on Course Planner improvements throughout the second half of the year. Planned enhancements include updating the staff experience in the remaining old UX pages, a new integration with OneRoster, and further usability improvements, such as simplified transfer course management, support for planning beyond grade 12, and other ongoing refinements designed to enhance the overall user experience.

Military Profiles - US Coast Guard

Naviance is releasing a new military profile for students. The first military profile will be for the US Coast Guard. Providing military profiles allows students to explore and learn about non-college pathways available to them after high school and contact the military branch directly.
After release, when students choose to learn more about the US Coast Guard, they will remain in Naviance Student to review the new profile.

Work-based learning Partner Portal phase 2

We’re excited to announce that Phase 2 of our new Work‑Based Learning Partner Portal is launching this month.  Phase 1 introduced key features that allowed Partners to connect with districts or schools and manage their own Contact and Organization information. Partners also gained the ability to create and share opportunities.
With Phase 2, we are expanding the Portal to support student Engagement and Hours management. Partners will now be able to update student engagement statuses and approve or reject submitted student hours. These new capabilities will automatically appear in the Student Engagements tab of the Portal.

Additionally, student hours submitted for any Partner-created opportunity will now flow to the Partner first for review before moving on to district or school staff for final approval.

Work-based learning in PowerBuddy for Student

This month, we'll be releasing the ability for PowerBuddy to talk to students about Work-Based Learning (WBL). Students will be able to ask questions about WBL opportunities, receive suggestions for opportunities that fit their interests, and discuss opportunities they're participating in.
