New Success Planner 2.0 reports

The latest Naviance reports release includes these new Success Planner 2.0 reports:

  • Success Planner 2.0 Program Completion Status - details assigned programs, completion status, rates, and task status.

  • Success Planner 2.0 Program Completion Summary - shows aggregate student completion data by program, including counts of assigned, completed, in progress, not started, and overdue students.

Charts are now available for the Success Planner 2.0 Program Completion Summary and Success Planner 2.0 Summary reports, providing quick snapshots of task and program completion status.

Demo Naviance Student

Work-based learning accessible via Demo Student

Staff can now use Demo Student to interact with Work-Based Learning. The Demo Student will display work-Based Learning opportunities that a student in their grade would see. Demo Student can set up preferences, favorite opportunities, participate in opportunities, and even add hours. Demo Student will reset each time the staff member leaves their session.

Assigned students page and task audit trail

Planner 2.0 introduces improved task visibility and management with the Assigned Students Page and Task Audit Trail. Educators can now track real-time student progress for a task, take bulk actions, send reminders, apply filters, and export data from a single workspace. Additionally, the Task Audit Trail provides a clear, chronological history of all task changes — showing what was updated, who made the change, and when — ensuring better transparency and accountability.

PowerBuddy staff permission update

PowerBuddy for staff in Naviance now requires only one permission to enable:

  • Administer PowerBuddy Settings – District Level

How it will behave:

  • When Administer PowerBuddy Settings – District Level permission is on, the PowerBuddy Settings menu is displayed.

  • The PowerBuddy Settings page includes:

    • PowerBuddy for CCLR – on by default (no change)

    • PowerBuddy for Staff – off by default (must be explicitly enabled)

PowerBuddy for Staff: Talk to your data

PowerBuddy for Staff now includes Talk to your data, an AI-driven enhancement that helps staff quickly find the right reports and understand them through simple conversational questions. This update reduces navigation time, simplifies data analysis, and supports faster decision‑making for educators.

What’s new:

  • AI‑powered report discovery that surfaces the most relevant reports based on a user’s query.

  • Conversational analysis of downloaded reports, including summaries and insights.

  • Student lookup within a report through natural language.

  • In‑flow actions, such as favoriting reports directly within PowerBuddy.

To enable PowerBuddy:

  1. Update user role permissions by going to Setup, choosing User Admin, and selecting Manage Roles & Rights. Then, select Administer PowerBuddy Settings.

  2. Turn on the feature by going to Setup and choosing PowerBuddy Settings. Then, turn on PowerBuddy for Staff.

College planning

Early access to modernized staff college profiles

Due to the mid-year timing, modernized staff college profiles will be available via opt-in Early Access.

District or school administrators who would like access can enable the new experience for their district or school staff through the Early Access page.

This approach allows interested districts to adopt early while minimizing disruption during peak college season.

Exclusion rules for Clever staff integration sync

Clever staff integration now allows clients to exclude specific staff and teacher records during the Clever staff integration sync.

What’s new:

  • New exclusion list in sync settings.

  • Users can create rules based on Clever user type (staff or teacher) and fields such as Title, StaffID, Teacher_Number, or Email.

  • Rules support in and = operators, with AND logic within each rule.

  • Multiple rules can be created for IN operator only; deleting a rule removes the entire rule block.

  • Records matching any rule will be excluded; existing matches will be deactivated and removed from teacher and counselor lists.

  • The default behavior is to expand all.

  • A system error is shown if required fields are missing when proceeding.

Partner portal phase 2 released

We’re excited to announce that Phase 2 of our new Work‑Based Learning Partner Portal has launched.

Phase 1 introduced key features that allowed Partners to connect with districts or schools and manage their own Contact and Organization information.  Partners also gained the ability to create and share opportunities.  

With Phase 2, we have expanded the Portal to support student Engagement and Hours management. New content that has been released includes:

  • Student engagements now appear in the Partner Portal for partner‑created opportunities.

  • Partners can update engagement statuses directly in the Partner Portal.

  • Student-submitted hours on partner-created opportunities route to partners for approval before moving on to district or school staff in Naviance.

  • Privacy protections ensure that students are only displayed to partners from districts or schools they’re connected with.

This release introduces six new reports designed to give educators deeper visibility into work‑based learning engagement, hours tracking, and partner organization activity:

  • Work-Based Learning Contacts – Provides detailed information on contacts and their associated opportunities and engagements.

  • Work-Based Learning Engagements – Displays comprehensive engagement records, including linked opportunities, contacts, organizations, and engagement status.

  • Work-Based Learning Hours Submissions – Shows detailed participation hour submissions for each student, including submission status.

  • Work-Based Learning Hours Summary – Aggregates total participation hours by student, including submitted and approved hour totals.

  • Work-Based Learning Opportunities – Lists all available opportunities along with their key details.

  • Work-Based Learning Organizations – Lists participating organizations and their details, including connected contacts and engagements.

Staff can add student hours


A new Hours option has been added to the Work‑based learning Add menu. This allows staff to add hours directly to student engagements, including cases where students have not yet submitted hours themselves. Staff can also continue to add hours via the Manage hours drawer on the Hours dashboard.
