The SEP report generally refers to official analyses, evaluations, or publications issued by the Secretariat of Public Education of Mexico (Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP)). The SEP is the federal government department responsible for national education policy, school standards, and the administration of Mexico’s public education system at all levels, from basic schooling through higher education.
The SEP report is an official student performance evaluation prepared for a specific grade level. It is generated by school administrators or teachers through the Student Information System (SIS) and submitted as part of the required reporting to education authorities.
The report provides a structured overview of a student’s academic progress, subject-wise performance, attendance records, and overall evaluation for the reporting period. To ensure the assessment format is appropriate for different learning stages, the system offers three standardized templates based on grade groups:
-
Grades 1–6: Focuses on foundational learning, basic skill development, and continuous assessment.
-
Grades 7–9: Emphasizes subject-level understanding, periodic evaluations, and academic progress tracking.
-
Grades 10–12: Designed for senior-level students, highlighting detailed subject performance, exam results, and readiness for higher education or career pathways.
The templates ensure consistency in reporting, align with government guidelines, and help maintain an official academic record for each student. The report aids in communicating student performance to schools, education authorities, and parents or guardians.
Grade 1-6
-
This report format applies to students in Grades 1 through 6, where the emphasis is on foundational learning and continuous development. The report presents category-wise averages across subject groups, overall performance aggregates, and attendance records, all organized term-wise to track progress over the academic year.
-
For this grade range, the evaluation structure is designed to reflect core skill development rather than only exam-based performance. Subject groups typically cover areas such as languages, mathematics, environmental studies/science, and co-curricular subjects. The system calculates averages within each category to give a clear picture of the student’s strengths and areas that may need improvement.
-
In addition to academic indicators, the report includes attendance summaries per term, helping monitor consistency and engagement in school activities. The term-based grouping allows teachers, administrators, and parents to observe performance trends, identify learning gaps early, and support timely academic interventions.
-
Overall, the Grades 1–6 template focuses on holistic progress tracking, ensuring that early-stage learners are evaluated on overall growth, participation, and understanding of fundamental concepts rather than solely on high-stakes examinations.
Grade 7-9
-
This report format applies to students in Grades 7 through 9, where evaluation is more subject-specific and academically structured. Unlike lower grades, there is no category-based grouping of subjects. Instead, the report presents individual subject performance, attendance details, and term-wise averages.
-
For each term, the report shows the student’s marks or grades for every subject, along with the average calculated for that term based on the subject scores. It also includes the number of absences per term, helping track the student’s consistency and participation in school activities.
-
This structure provides a clear and straightforward academic overview, allowing teachers and administrators to monitor subject-level performance, identify trends across terms, and offer timely support where needed. It also ensures standardized reporting for government submission while giving parents and stakeholders a transparent view of the student’s academic progress and attendance during the middle school years.
Grade 10-12
-
This report format applies to students in Grades 10 through 12, where assessment is strictly subject-based and examination-focused. The report displays each student’s marks for every subject for a specific term, providing a detailed academic record at the senior secondary level.
-
There are no category groupings, attendance details, or calculated averages included in this template. Each subject is listed individually with its corresponding marks, reflecting the student’s direct performance in that subject.
-
This structure aligns with senior-level academic requirements, where subject results are critical for board examinations, graduation eligibility, and higher education or career pathways. The format ensures precise and standardized reporting for official purposes while giving a clear and transparent view of the student’s term-wise subject performance.

-
Navigate to the Data tab
-
Add or update the required Codeset values for each supported language (for example, English and Spanish).
Ensure that the translated values are mapped correctly.
By default, the report is automatically prefixed with the country set to Mexico. This determines which localized values are picked up in the report. If you are configuring the report for a different country or region, update the country code in the APEX process load_headers for the corresponding report to ensure the correct localization is applied.
Once the changes are made, verify the output by running the report and confirming that the course and category names are displayed correctly in the selected language.
