Mexico PowerSchool SIS product help
The following product help is specific to the Mexico localization. Some information here may contradict non-Mexico product help since the PowerSchool SIS system has been customized for Mexico and may function differently than other localizations.
Student Name

The Mexican naming system reflects both personal and family identities simply and clearly.
Mexico Naming conventions
First Name 1: May include multiple names (e.g., "Juan Carlos").
First Name 2 (Middle Name): Common but optional.
Paternal Surname (Third Name): Inherited from the father.
Maternal Surname (Last Name): Inherited from the mother.
To create a full name, concatenate the following names in order: First Name 1, First Name 2, Father's Last Name (mandatory), and Mother's Last Name.
Student Address
Refer to Student Address for general information.
A Mexican address consists of a street name and number, neighborhood, municipality, city, state, postal code, and country.
Combine address elements in the correct order for display and mailing purposes.
Format addresses in accordance with local postal guidelines.
Accommodate varying field lengths, particularly for street names and neighborhoods, allowing for longer names as necessary.
Utilize the Google Maps API for address validation.
Other Demographic Information
To create comprehensive profiles for students, contacts, and staff, the key information for each individual is collected, such as:
Place of Birth:
Refers to the specific location of an individual's birth, typically the city or town.
The Place of Birth field is a free text field.
Country of Birth:
Refers to the country of birth for the student. It identifies the nation and is commonly used for legal, identification, and citizenship purposes.
It is selected from a dropdown menu that includes has a list of countries.
Languages Spoken at Home:
The system captures and records the primary language spoken at home by an individual's family.
A dropdown menu will be labeled Language Spoken at Home which includes options like Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, and Other.
The system allows additional language entries through implementation customizations.
National ID- Clave Única de Registro de Población (CURP):
The unique identification number is assigned to every individual residing in Mexico, including both citizens and legal residents. This is analogous to social security numbers or national identification numbers in other countries.
State Student number is labelled as National ID.
Nationality:
The Nationality menu is available with the UN approved nationalities.
Select a country from the dropdown menu.
Identification Document:
Schools require identification documents such as Birth Certificate, Passport, and previous school records for student enrollment and accurate record-keeping.
The system allows you to select the Student Identification Document from the dropdown menu.
This dropdown menu will be pre-populated with options such as Birth Certificate, Passaport,etc.
Identification Document Number:
This field records the student, contact, staff passport number, birth certificate number, or any other identification number.
Input must be alphanumeric characters.
Identification Document Expiry Date:
This field records the expiration date of the student's passport.
Only support future dates, formatted according to local preferences.
Foreign ID/Number:
Foreign students who are not Mexican citizens or residents may require a specific type of identification known as the Documento de identidad de extranjero or Número (Foreign ID / Number).

Occupation/Job Title:
The primary method of input will be a drop-down menu containing predefined occupation options. If the Other option is selected, an additional field is displayed, and you can enter the job title.
The dropdown menu includes predefined occupation options categorized by standard job types.
Common job titles such as Teacher, Engineer, Doctor, Nurse, and Accountant will be featured among the options.
An Others option will be available for occupations not listed.
If Others is selected, an additional input field labeled Other will be displayed.
Date of Birth:
To capture the date of birth of the contact. The User can select the calendar picker or enter the date in the locale format.
Marital Status:
To record marital status, users can choose from the options available in the dropdown menu, which include Single, Married, Divorced, Widowed, and Separated.
Level of Education:
To capture educational details, users can choose their education level from a dropdown menu:
If "Others" is selected, an extra input field labeled Other will be displayed.
Staff members

Staff names and addresses will be recorded using the standard Mexican naming and address format to ensure consistency, compliance, and accurate localization within the system.
School Info and Transport:
The address format utilized in School information and Transport adheres to the standard Mexico address format, ensuring both consistency and accuracy.
Currency:
The Mexican Peso (MXN) can be configured and will be displayed across all financial modules.
