Banded Staffing Allocation
What is a Banded Staffing Allocation Rule?
A Banded Staffing Allocation Rule is a method for distributing staff positions (such as teachers, counselors, aides, etc.) to schools or departments based on numeric ranges ("bands") of a key metric—typically student enrollment. In Allovue, users can set ranges and associate those ranges with an FTE amount that they are allocating to an organization.
Example Banded Staffing Rule
Suppose you set these bands for counselors:
Enrollment Band | Counselor FTEs |
|---|---|
0–299 | 0.5 |
300–499 | 1 |
500–699 | 1.5 |
700+ | 2 |
School with 280 students: Falls in 0–299 ⇒ gets 0.5 counselors
School with 410 students: Falls in 300–499 ⇒ gets 1 counselor
School with 520 students: Falls in 500–699 ⇒ gets 1.5 counselors
School with 800 students: Falls in 700+ ⇒ gets 2 counselors
