Scenarios
Scenarios Overview:
In Allocate, Scenarios are model projections based on a combination of an Organization’s Enrollment Projections and Formulas created in Allocate. Multiple Scenarios can be created and Allocate allows users to compare versions. The Adopted Scenario is the Budget Scenario that will be used in the Budget 2.0 Module.
Create a New Scenario
In Allocate, select Scenarios.
Select + New Scenario.
Enter the required fields into the form.
Select Save.
Set Adopted Scenario
The Adopted Scenario is the Budget Scenario that will be used in the Budget 2.0 Module. One Scenario can be selected as the Adopted Scenario per Fiscal Year. To set a scenario as the adopted Scenario, follow the steps below.
In Allocate, select Scenarios.
Choose the Scenario and select the pencil icon.
In the form, select Set as Adopted Scenario for Fiscal Year.
Select Save.
Setting a Scenario as the Adopted Scenario will enable budgeting only for this Scenario for the given fiscal year.
Gains and Losses Policy
In the Scenario Configuration, you can set a Gains and Losses Policy. The policy may be applied to the School, Lead, or Central Office. The following options are available in the Gains and Loss Policy:
Per Pupil
Gross Total
No Policy
If the Per-Pupil or Gross total is selected, you will need to set the Max Gain Percentage and Max Loss Percentage.
Delete a Scenario
In Allocate, select Scenarios.
Navigate to the Scenario and choose the trash can.
Select OK.
Edit a Scenario.
In Allocate, select Scenarios.
Navigate to the Scenario and choose the pencil icon.
Modify the Scenario as needed.
Select Save.
Export Scenarios
In Allocate, you can export the Scenario Summary in an XLSX format. To do so, follow the steps below:
In Allocate, Select Scenarios.
Navigate to the Scenario and choose the eye icon.
Select Actions.
Select Export XLSX.
Compare Scenarios
In Allocate, select Scenarios.
Choose two scenarios and select Add to Compare.
Select Compare Selected Scenarios.
Access Scenario Summary
In Allocate, select Scenarios.
Select the eye icon.
Select Scenario Summary.
Review the scenario on the page.
When reviewing a scenario, the following details are available on the summary page:

Allocation | Allocations used in the Scenario. Refer to Allocations for Configuration instructions. |
Formula | Formula used in the scenario. Refer to Formulas for Configuration instructions. |
Percent of Total | Percentage of each Allocation. |
Per-pupil amount | Total dollar amount per student. Based on Enrollment Projection. |
Total Dollars | Total Dollars allocated. |
Organization Summary
In Allocate, select Scenarios.
Select the eye icon.
Select Organizations.
Review Organization details.
When reviewing Organization details in a Scenario, the following information is available:

Organization | Name of the Organization set up in Configuration. |
Characteristics | Charactertistics of the Organization set up in Configuration. |
Enrollment | Enrollment Projection set up in Configuration. |
FTEs | Full-Time Equivalents allotted to an Organization based on Formula set up. |
Amount | Total dollar amount allotted to an Organization. |
Per-Pupil Amount | Total dollar amount per student. Based on Enrollment Projection. |
Access Organization Level Details
In Allocate, you have the ability to review a Funding Breakdown by Organization. To access Funding Break Down, follow the steps below.
In Allocate, Select Scenarios.
Select Organizations.
Navigate to the Organization and select the eye icon.
Review the Funding Breakdown.
From this page, you can review Funding Breakdown, Sub-Enrollment, and Job Types of the Organization.
Select Show $0 Rules to see allocations that are not dollar based.
Print Organization Level Details
In Allocate, districts have the ability to PDF print the Funding Breakdown for an Organization. To do so, follow the steps below:
In Allocate, select Scenarios.
Navigate to the Scenario and select the eye icon.
Choose Organizations.
Navigate to the Organization and select the eye icon.
Select Actions.
Select Print.
Select Save.
