Assign staff user role permissions

District

Assign the following permissions to district-level user roles so that district staff can access PowerBuddy features in Naviance.

Access to reports in PowerBuddy is available only for staff with report permissions. Review the related permissions on the Set up reporting page.

User role permission

Description

Administer PowerBuddy settings - district level

Manage district-level PowerBuddy settings to:

Manage access to PowerBuddy for staff on for all staff in your district.
Review and edit concerning topic email notifications for students.
Access student chat logs.
Toggle PowerBuddy for College and Career on for all schools.

Manage access to PowerBuddy for staff on for all staff in your school.
Review and edit concerning topic email notifications for students.
Access student chat logs.
Assess allotment usage.

View PowerBuddy chat logs

Review student chat logs from the student folder.

Review student chat logs from the student folder.

Select Naviance Student settings

Select the following feature so students can access PowerBuddy AI in Naviance Student.

Access to this feature may be managed at the district level.

Feature	Description
PowerBuddy	Allows students to use PowerBuddy, an AI assistant in Naviance Student.

Restrict PowerBuddy access for individual students from the Privacy Settings page of the student folder.

Activate PowerBuddy

When enabled by the district, schools can manage the feature for students by grade level or turn off the feature for staff. Alternatively, you can revoke school access to PowerBuddy.

Navigate to the gear icon and select Setup.
Select PowerBuddy.
Toggle PowerBuddy for College and Career on or off for students and staff.

Manage chat notifications

Add recipients to receive email notifications regarding students’ flagged PowerBuddy chats.

Navigate to the gear icon and select Setup.
Select PowerBuddy.
From Flagged chat notification settings, select Review settings.
Enter the recipient's Name and Email.
Click Add Email.

From the recipient list, you can activate, deactivate, or remove people from the list.
