School Setup Validation

Navigation: School Management, School Setup, School Setup Validation.

The school setup validation dashboard highlights potential issues or incomplete configurations that may affect school‑level functionality. Each system configuration is unique and validation requirements may differ. By surfacing these issues in a single, centralized view, the dashboard helps proactively identify configuration gaps, reduce setup errors, and ensure school features are configured as intended.

Potential issues can be identified and resolved, such as:

  • Missing setup

  • Incomplete configuration

  • Issues that may affect reporting or functionality

The validations displayed on the page depends on the your access to the linked setup page. You can only view validations for sections your permission.

Steps

  1. Select a validation rule from the list to review or update its configuration.

  2. Review each row in the Validation column. Validation rules are grouped by functional area, such as Attendance, Scheduling, Grading, Fees, and Miscellaneous.

    1. Each validation name is a link to the page where the validation is defined and can be viewed or modified.

The validations displayed on the page depends on your access to the linked setup page. You can only view validations for the validation rules that you have access to.

  1. Review the Info icon next to each validation to understand the requirement.

    1. Hover over the Info icon to view the validation rule description.

    2. Each validation represents a specific setup requirement that applies to the selected School or District context.

  2. Review the Status column to determine the current state of each validation.

    1. Status values are displayed as colored indicators with the number of configured, missing, or errored items.

      • The status text may include values other than the ones listed below depending on the specific validation.

    2. Select View details to review the specific configured validations or any validations with errors.

Status

Meaning

Configured

All required validations for the selected page are properly set up. The number
shown indicates how many configured items were found.

Not configured

No validations are set up for the selected page.

Missing

One or more required validations are missing for the selected page.

Error

Validations exist for the selected page, but one or more contain errors.

  1. In the Actions column, select the reload button to re-run the validation.

The validation framework is designed to be extensible and supports the following capabilities:

  • You can create and manage your own validation rules.

  • Validation rules are implemented using PowerQueries, which determine row counts, calculate status, and optionally provide detailed results.
