Description

Name Structure

When MEA localization is implemented, specific features tailored to the Middle Eastern region are activated or deactivated by the system. A refined approach to name structures is adopted to meet the diverse cultural requirements of the MEA region, ensuring alignment with local customs and practices.

Names in the MEA region are traditionally structured in a specific way. Several components that reflect family relationships and heritage are included. The following elements are typically present:

• First Name (Given Name)

• Middle Name (Father's Name)

• Third Name (Grandfather's Name)

• Last Name (Tribal/Family Name)

To provide a more inclusive and accessible experience, names are entered in both Arabic and English. Accurate storage and display of these names are supported by the system for:

• Students

• Contacts

• Staff

• Teachers

Address Structure

The MEA address structure is typically written in a defined format:

• Building number and name

• Street name

• Neighborhood

• City

• PO Box number

• Landmark

• Governorate/Province

• Country

Other demographic changes

The following information is captured by the system for each persona:

• Student personas

  • Country of Birth

  • Religion

  • Passport Number

  • Passport Expiry Date

  • Government Portal ID

• Students, contacts, and staff personas

  • National ID

  • Nationality

• Contact personas

  • Job Title

  • Marital Status

Object reports are supported by MEA localization and are available in both English and Arabic.

Dual Language Reports

The sample transcript report has been updated to support bilingual display (Arabic and English).
Three versions are available:

• Transcript – Grades 1–6

• Transcript – Grades 7–9

• Transcript – Grades 10–12

• Report Card

Power Query Data Access Tags (DATs)

Some fields are not directly accessible from the person tables in student-related object reports. Certain fields also do not support existing contact information data. To address this issue, Power Query DATs are provided for object reports.

Sample Report Card and Reports - Enterprise Report

The new Sample Report Card is available under the section labeled Enterprise Reports. It includes the following:

• Term Report Card

• Yearly Report Card

• Attendance Report

• Registration Reports

To create a report card, a service engagement must be in place for a functional and usable Report Card to be created.

Alternatively, you can also develop your own report by using the provided Sample Report. This option gives flexibility to meet specific reporting needs while ensuring that the required resources are available.

Dual Language Support

Dual-language interfaces are supported for the following:

• Names (for Admin, Teachers, Parents, Contacts, and Students)

• Nationality

• School Name

• Course Name

• Terms

Field labels for attributes created in alternate languages are changed dynamically based on your locale preference.

• If English is set as your preferred language in the default locale preference, the alternate label appears as Name in Arabic.

• If Arabic is set as your preferred language, the alternate label appears as Name in English.

International Installer

The installer design is created with both core and country-specific elements. This approach ensures that:

• Foundational requirements for functionality are met.

• Localization and customization needs are addressed.

Searching for Students and Staff using the MEA name format is not supported.

The MEA name format includes the following:

• First Name

• Middle Name 2

• Third Name

• Last Name

Addresses and names in localized formats are not supported in the PowerTeacher Pro Portal.

The fields used to capture additional student details, such as a third name, alternative names, and address have been moved to PersonCoreFields.

These fields are not currently included in the Quick Student Export/Import functionality.

Setup default locale ​​

1. Navigate to District Office, then System Management.

2. Select System Locales.

3. Choose the Arabic Locale.

4. Select the Country and Language according to your preference.

5. Select the System Default Locale checkbox.

6. Click Submit.

Setup right Numeric and Currency Format​​

1. Navigate to District Office, then System Management.

2. Select System Locales.

3. Choose the Arabic Locale.

4. In the Currency Format dropdown, select #,##0.00.

5. Click Save Changes.

To set a mandatory field for Student, Contact and Staff pages​

• Go to Data Validation Rules​

• Search for the table​

• Select the column name and select the check box Required to make that column as a mandatory field.​

1. Go to Data Validation Rules.

2. Search for the Table.

3. Select the Column Name.

4. Select the Required checkbox to make the column a mandatory field.

Displaying Arabic values in Object Reports for PDF​​

1. Navigate to District Office, then System Management.

2. Select Reports.

3. Open System Reports.

4. Select Report Queue Preference.

5. Check the Use Advanced PDF Processing checkbox.

Setup Gregorian and hijri calendar​

1. Navigate to District Office, then System Management.

2. Select System Locales.

3. Choose the Arabic Locale.

4. In Calendar System, select Gregorian and Hijri from the dropdown.

5. Click Save Changes.

Set up Apex Login Account ​

To develop Apex reports, you must first have access to the developer workspace.

1. Log in to the PowerSchool Admin Portal.

2. Go to Search for Staff for the staff member who needs Apex workspace access.

3. Open Staff Security Settings and select Administrator.

4. Check the Apex option and set a password for the Apex account.

5. If the password field is disabled, uncheck the Apex checkbox and click Submit.

6. After the page reloads, the password textbox will appear.

7. Enter the password and click Submit.

Make sure the PowerSchool Admin and ReportWorks checkboxes are also checked.

Enable RTL in Enterprise Report

To enable RTL in Enterprise Report, visit Enabling RTL in Enterprise Report.

Uploading and Using Images in APEX Static Application Files

1.  Navigate to Shared Components, then Static Application Files in your APEX application.

2. Click Upload File and select the image you want to use.

3. After the upload is complete, reference the image in your HTML using the following syntax:

4. Replace imagename.png with the name of your uploaded image file.

To Upload a Picture for Object Reports

To upload a picture for Object Reports, such as logos or seals, complete these steps:

1. Access the Pictures Page

   1. Navigate to System Management, then Reports, then System Reports, and select Pictures for Object Reports.

2. View Existing Pictures

   1. In the Available Pictures list, click any filename to preview the image.

3. Add a New Picture

• Ensure the image is in JPEG (.jpg) format.

• For school logos, use the naming convention: school_logo_[SCHOOL_NUMBER].jpg (for example: school_logo_123.jpg).

• Click Choose File (or enter the file path), select your JPEG image, and click Submit.

The image will then appear in the Available Pictures list and will be ready for use in object reports.

Add code set and Import Code set​

Navigate to System Management, Data, Code Sets.

• To add or update a code in an existing set:

  • Select the Code Set.

  • Click Add/Update Code.
