Naviance Insights and Insights Premium

Overview

Use Naviance Insights and Insights Premium to analyze student outcomes and uncover data-driven opportunities for improvement.

What you can do:

• Analyze college outcomes by factors such as student group, race, gender, middle school, and high school.

• Evaluate program impact to see what’s working across your school or district.

• Simplify state and district reporting with ready-to-use data views.

Both Insights and Insights Premium include reports for current students and alumni. Insights Premium also provides Analysis dashboards and middle school access to Insights dashboards.

Assign the following permissions to user roles so staff can access Insights and Insights Premium reports in Naviance.

• View district reports (district-level permission)

• View Analytics tab (school-level permission)

Reports

Use Insights reports to monitor college outcomes and identify trends over time.

Track outcomes

Get presentation-ready reports that display year-over-year results by district, high school, or middle school, including:

• Enrolled in college the first year after high school

• Accepted to college but not enrolled

• Enrolled in college the first year and returned for the second

• Completed a college degree within four years of high school graduation

Monitor current students

View current class-year metrics to identify trends early, such as:

• Applied to at least one college

• Accepted to at least one college

• Applied to a 4-year college

• Accepted to a 4-year college

Use Insights reports

Alumni data used in reports comes from Alumni Tracker.

1. Navigate to Analytics and select Reports.

2. Select an Insights report.

3. Click High School Outcomes or Alumni Outcomes. 

4. Review the charts.

5. Optionally:

   1. Click Analysis for a selected chart to display the corresponding analysis dashboards. You must have an Insights Premium subscription to display Analysis dashboards.

   2. Select Details to display data in a list view.

   3. Filter data.

   4. Manage the columns that display in the detail reports.

   5. Export data.

   6. Save custom reports.

Analysis dashboard overview

Use the Analysis charts to:

• Deeply analyze the outcomes data.

• Uncover factors that influence college outcomes.

• Pinpoint success factors for informed decision-making.

• Simplify reporting.

These premium dashboards are available as an upgrade to Naviance Insights for an additional charge.

Use the Analysis dashboards

1. Navigate to Analytics and select Reports.

2. Select an Insights report.

3. Click Analysis for a selected chart to display the Analysis dashboards.

4. Review the Source chart.

5. From the Analysis chart, select a View by option to display the corresponding data.

6. Review the chart data to compare single-year data to data over time.

7. Optionally:

   1. Filter data.

   2. Export data.

   3. Hover over data points to display additional information.

   4. Select Details to display the data in a list view.
