Manage Test Prep

Create a Discussion Group

Use the Naviance Test Prep discussion feature to make announcements and communicate with students through instructor-created discussion groups.

  1. From Quick Links on the homepage, select Naviance Test Prep.
  2. From Test Prep Options, select Reporting Dashboard.
  3. From My Studies, select SAT Prep or ACT Prep.
  4. Select Discussions.
  5. Click Create Discussion.
  6. Enter the Discussion Name.
  7. Enter the Discussion Description.
  8. Search by student's name and click Invite for each student you wish to invite.

    A student must have logged into Naviance Test Prep at least once to invite them to a discussion. Otherwise, the search field does not display the student's name.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Enter the discussion text to communicate to invited students and click Submit.

Manage Discussion Groups

  1. From Quick Links on the homepage, select Naviance Test Prep.
  2. From Test Prep Options, select Reporting Dashboard.
  3. From My Studies, select SAT Prep or ACT Prep.
  4. Select Discussions.
  5. For the selected Discussion:
    • Select Manage to invite additional students.
  6. Select the discussion name to communicate with students.

    Students must join the discussion group to reply to their instructors.

Add a Custom Message

  • Create a Banner Message for students with a custom study plan.
  • Send an In-app Message to a student's Test Prep inbox.

Create a Banner Message

You must have a discussion group created to post a banner message.
  1. From Quick Links on the homepage, select Naviance Test Prep.
  2. From Test Prep Options, select Reporting Dashboard.
  3. From Tools, select Message Center.
  4. Select Create Banner Message.
  5. Enter the Banner Message.
  6. From Dates Active, select the message start and end dates and then click Apply.
  7. Click Post.

Create an In-App Message

  1. From Quick Links on the homepage, select Naviance Test Prep.
  2. From Test Prep Options, select Reporting Dashboard.
  3. From Tools, select Message Center.
  4. Select Create In-App Message.
  5. Enter a Title and a Message.
  6. Search for and then select the message recipients.
  7. Click Send.
