Explore the course catalog

Review the course catalog to learn more about courses offered at your school, such as course corequisites, prerequisites, and more.

Select Courses, then choose Explore course catalog.

  • Lookup courses by:

    • School

    • Subject area

    • Grade level

  • Select the course name to display course details.

Manage course plans

Use course plans to keep track of meeting graduation requirements and taking courses that align with your career interest.

You can only have one primary plan. All other course plans are draft plans. Click Make primary plan to change the status of a draft plan.

Create a course plan

  1. Select Courses, and then select Manage course plans.

  2. Click Create plan.

  3. If available, choose an option from the School list.

  4. Select a course plan.

  5. Select Create a new plan. Alternatively, select Copy courses from an existing plan to add your course selections from an existing course plan to the new plan.

  6. Click Create plan.

  7. From the course selection grid:

    1. Add courses for a requirement.

    2. Add courses to fulfill the credit requirement. Optionally, choose the grade when you want to take the course.

    3. Click Save courses when finished adding courses for the requirements.

    4. Select another requirement from the list and add courses.

    5. Optionally, add alternates for courses that offer them.

  8. If available, click Specializations. Your school may have changed the terms Area and Specialization to something different.

    1. Select Add area.

    2. Choose an Area and Specialization from the lists.

    3. Click Add.

  9. Optionally:

    1. Review the total credit progress.

    2. Review the credit summary for each requirement.

    3. Click Check my plan to displays any flags. Click the flag to display details and learn how to resolve the issue. Optionally, select Review All from the banner to display all alerts.

    4. Select a course name to review the course details.

    5. Click the trashcan icon to delete a selected course.

    6. Click Resources to display additional information from your school or district.

  10. If available, select Submit for approval after all course plan requirements. You can no longer edit the submitted course plan until it is unlocked by your school.

Edit a course plan

  1. Select Courses, and then select Manage Course Plans.

  2. Choose the course plan to edit. Approved course plans may be locked for editing.

  3. Update your course selections, resolve alerts, and more.

  4. Optionally, click Specializations to review and manage areas and specializations. Your shcool may have changed the terms Area and Specialization to something different.

Delete a course plan

  1. Select Courses, and then select Manage Course Plans.

  2. Click Remove for the selected course plan.

  3. Click Remove plans.

Approve course plans

Guardians can approve their student's course plans if required by the school or district.

Alternatively, print and distribute hard copies of students' course plans for signature if parents and guardians do not have Naviance Student accounts.

  1. Navigate to Courses, and then select Manage course plans.

  2. Select the course plan that displays Awaiting parent approval.

  3. Click Review plan.

  4. Enter your Full name and ensure the Date is accurate.

  5. Cick I Approve This Plan. If you choose not to approve the course plan, discuss your student’s course selections with their counselor.

Download a course plan

Parents and guardians can download a copy of their student's course plan via the Student Readiness Report if shared by the school.

  1. Navigate to About Me, and then select Student Name Stuff, My Student Readiness Reports.

  2. Select the Report Name or Download to download the report.
