Configure the OneRoster integration

Before configuring the OneRoster integration, you must set up SFTP.

If you have SFTP set up for your Course Planner integration, you do not need to configure SFTP again.

Configure the OneRoster staff integration

  1. From Naviance District Edition, navigate to Account settings (gear icon), and then select Setup.

  2. From the Naviance District Administration page, choose OneRoster Data Integration.

  3. From the OneRoster data integration page, select Configure.

  4. Follow the three steps to configure the OneRoster integration:

    • OneRoster integration setup

    • OneRoster data integration settings

    • Manage email notifications

OneRoster integration setup

  1. From the Configure page, select OneRoster integration setup.

  2. Click Edit OneRoster Integration Settings.

  3. Click Choose File and select the ZIP file to upload.

  4. Optionally, click Reset current configuration if you have a Clever or PowerSchool data integration set up in Naviance.

  5. Click Upload.

  6. Map the schools.

    1. Review the matches for accuracy. Naviance attempts to match the SIS school to the corresponding Naviance school.

    2. To change the matching, choose the option from the SIS school list that matches the Naviance school.

    3. Optionally, choose Do not import from the SIS school list if you do not want to import data for the school.

    4. Click Save to return to the Configuration page.

OneRoster integration settings

  1. From the Configure page, select OneRoster integration settings.

  2. From Actions, click edit for the selected data type.

  3. Map the fields.

    1. Review the matches for accuracy. Naviance attempts to match the SIS data field to the corresponding Naviance Field.

    2. To change the matching, choose the option from the Matching SIS data field list that matches the Naviance field.

    3. Optionally, choose Do not import from the Matching OneRoster Field if you do not want to import a non-required data field.

    4. Click Next to navigate to the School mapping page or select Save and Close to return to the Configuration page. Optionally, select Save to ensure your work is saved before navigating away from the page.

  4. Define codes.

    1. Review matches for accuracy.

    2. Select a SIS code from the list for each Naviance field.

    3. Click Next.

  5. Set the import rules.

    1. Choose the available schools.

    2. Optionally, select the user roles to make users assigned those roles in Naviance inactive.

    3. Optionally, choose to overwrite data in Naviance if it is blank in your imported data.

    4. Optionally, choose to include only mapped roles in the log file.

    5. Click Next.

  6. Test or start the import.

    1. Review the Import summary to ensure you have addressed all steps.

    2. Before starting the import, click Test import to validate expected results, check for errors, and review duplicate accounts. Run a test import as often as needed before the first import.

    3. Select Start import. The status displays Validation in progress until the import is ready to begin.

    4. Select Save and Close to return to the Configuration page. Optionally, select Save to ensure your work is saved before navigating away from the page.

Manage email notifications

Decide who will receive import status notifications for each data type. The email subject includes the import status, and the email message includes an Import Summary and a link to the Import log for more details.

  1. From Naviance District Edition, go to the gear icon, then select Setup.

  2. From the Naviance District Administration page, choose OneRoster Data Integration.

  3. Click Configure.

  4. From the configuration settings, select Manage email notifications.

  5. From Actions, click edit for the selected data type.

  6. Enter an email address in the Add Email Recipient(s) field.

  7. Click Save.

Review previous staff imports

Review an import's progress and manage previous imports.

  1. From Naviance District Edition, navigate Account settings (gear icon), and then select Setup.

  2. Choose OneRoster Data Integration.

  3. Select More, and then select View Log to access the import's details.

    • To access a list of potential updates resolved between Naviance and PowerSchool products, select View Staff Updates Log.

    • To avoid creating duplicate records, go to Resolve Alerts, if available, and review the OneRoster record and the possible matches.

      1. Choose the matching record if listed, and then select Match. Otherwise, select Create Record.

      2. To create and match the selected records, select Process All Updates.
