OnSIS Snapshot

Six additional course offering types have been introduced for the reporting of Literacy & Numeracy courses. These course offerings are to be determined at the student level, not the course level. The OnSIS Snapshot will determine the appropriate course offering to assign to the student.

The new course offerings values are:

  • Grade 7/8 Literacy & Numeracy – Adult (student is 21 or older on Dec 31st)
  • Grade 7/8 Literacy & Numeracy – Fully High Credit (student's high credit FTE for the school year is > 0 and regular FTE is = 0)
  • Grade 7/8 Literacy & Numeracy – Con Ed. (used when student attends a continuing education school and does not qualify for the two choices above)
  • Grade 9/10 Literacy & Numeracy – Adult (student is 21 or older on Dec 31st)
  • Grade 9/10 Literacy & Numeracy – Fully High Credit (student's high credit FTE for the school year is > 0 and regular FTE is = 0)
  • Grade 9/10 Literacy & Numeracy – Con Ed. (used when student does not qualify for the two choices above)

OnSIS SnapshotAs SHSM course information is no longer reported in the OnSIS Secondary and OnSIS Night transmission files, all related validation rules are closed. As a result of this update, if a prior submission is generated, SHSM course validations will not be performed. All error checking will occur at the Ministry site.

New validation has been added to the OnSIS Snapshot to ensure that a student's course end date is less than or equal to their enrolment end date. This validation applies to Secondary, Con Ed/Night, Summer, Private Secondary and CTCC submissions.

OnSIS Snapshot Students who have earned their diploma at a CTCC school are not having the diploma reported to OnSIS. This issue been resolved.03826632TRILL-6384
CSV ImportsFor the CTCC submission, boards that do not depart all students at the end of the year must download both the Student School Enrolment and the Transition Dates .csv files from the Ministry OnSIS site as the first step of the submission process. This ensures that the correct Action tags can be calculated for CTCC records that will be submitted in the OnSIS transmission file.
TRILL-6747
OnSIS TransmissionThe Ministry has requested the submission of SHSM Sector-Partnered Contextualized Experience information for both enrolled and non-enrolled SHSM students who have completed their program. This information is now submitted under the SPCE sections in the Secondary submission.
TRILL-7077
SnapshotImprovements have been made to the snapshot process which alleviates the intermittent Powerbuilder 999 error for users.

SnapshotPermissions were not properly granted for two new OnSIS tables, fs_onsis_csv_spce, fs_onsis_xml_spce.  We have corrected this issue in the updated OnSIS package available here.
