Enter Academic and Career Plan Information

If your district and school have set up Academic and Career Plan, you can manage Academic and Career Plan programs at the student level. Academic and Career Plan is focused on developing the skills of K-12 students preparing them for postsecondary learning and workforce opportunities. Academic and Career Plan courses encourage students to explore and prepare for careers in agriculture, criminal justice, health science, hospitality, and more. Programs of study are organized by career clusters, which include distinct groupings of occupations and industries based on the knowledge and skills they require. Students enrolled in a program where career and technical skill proficiencies are aligned with industry-recognized standards can work towards industry credentials. The credential provides proof that the student possesses the minimum skills required for entry-level employment. The following is an example of Academic and Career Plan data:

Work with Academic and Career Plan Programs

  1. On the start page, click the Student Information (backpack) icon next to the class you want to work with. 
  2. Click the last name of the student you want to work with. 
  3. Choose Academic and Career Plan from the Select screens pop-up menu. Courses must be set as an Academic and Career Plan course by the district or school in order for Academic and Career Plan to appear in Select screens
  4. To associate a program to a student:
    1. Click Add Program.
    2. Enter information as needed:

      FieldDescription
      Cluster

      Choose the cluster you want to associate to the student. For example, Agriculture.

      Program

      Choose the program within the cluster that you want to associate to the student. For example, Agriscience.

    3. Click Save.
  5. To edit a program associated to a student:
    1. To narrow the list of program, use the Basic Filter:
      1. Enter search criteria as needed.
      2. Click Apply.
      3. To add another filter, click the Add (plus sign) button. 
      4. To delete the filter, click the Delete (minus sign) button. 
      5. To remove all filter selectionsclick Clear.
    2. To sort program, click the column heading.
    3. Click the name of the program you want to edit.
    4. Edit information as needed.
    5. Click Save.
  6. To delete a program associated to a student:
    1. Click the Delete icon of the program you want to delete.
    2. Click OK.

Work with Academic and Career Plan Credentials

  1. On the start page, click the Student Information (backpack) icon next to the class you want to work with. 
  2. Click the last name of the student you want to work with. 
  3. Choose Academic and Career Plan from Select screens. Courses must be set as an Academic and Career Plan course by the district or school in order for Career Tech to appear in Select screens
  4. To associate a credential to a student:
    1. On the start page, search for and select a student.
    2. Under Academics, choose Academic and Career Plan from the student pages menu. 
    3. Click Add Credentials.
    4. Enter information as needed:

      Cluster

      Choose the cluster you want to associate to the student, such as Agriculture.

      Program

      Choose the program within the cluster that you want to associate to the student, such as Agriscience.

      CredentialChoose the credential within the program that you want to associate to the student, such as NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research).
      DateEnter the date the credential is/was associated to the student. Defaults to today's date.
      PassedSelect the checkbox to indicate that the student met the criteria to meet the credential standards.
      LocalityChoose the area where the student participated in the program, such as Home District.
      SiteChoose the location where the student participated in the program, such as Davis Senior High School.
    5. Click Save.
  5. To edit a credential associated to a student:
    1. To narrow the list of credentials, use the Basic Filter.
    2. To sort career credentials, click the column heading.
    3. Click the name of the credential you want to edit.
    4. Edit information as needed.
    5. Click Save.
  6. To delete a credential associated to a student:
    1. Click the Delete icon of the credential you want to delete.
    2. Click OK.

Work with Academic and Career Plan Courses

To view Academic and Career Plan courses associated to a student:

  1. On the start page, click the Student Information (backpack) icon next to the class you want to work with. 
  2. Click the last name of the student you want to work with. 
  3. Choose Academic and Career Plan from Select screens.
    Note: Courses must be set as an Academic and Career Plan course by the district or school in order for Academic and Career Plan to appear in Select screens
    The Course section displays the Academic and Career Plan courses associated to the student. For example:
    • Fundamentals of Agriscience
    • Intermediate Agriscience
    • Advanced Agriscience
    • Applied Agricultural Mechanics
    • Senior Pathway Project-Agriculture, Food & Nat Res
  4. To narrow the list of courses, use the Basic Filter.
  5. To sort career courses, click the column heading.
