The Student Observation Setup page enables district staff to manage how teachers enter student observations and submit referrals in the PowerTeacher portal.
Enable Student Observations in PowerTeacher Portal
Enables teachers to record and view student observations directly in the PowerTeacher portal.
The Enable Student Observations in PowerTeacher Portal feature is enabled by default for districts using PowerSchool SIS versions 25.5.1.0 or higher, provided that you have been using Observations in the earlier versions.
If this option is disabled by the administrator, the Student Observations and Referrals page will not be accessible in the PowerTeacher Portal.
Teachers may choose students outside their classes
Enables teachers to select and observe students beyond those assigned to them. Supports broader visibility across student groups.
Teachers can select students outside their class (within the same school) by selecting Any Student when creating an observation.
Enable Student Observation Referrals by Teachers
Enables teachers to refer observations to an administrator for further processing.
If this option is disabled by the administrator, teachers will be able to save observations and not submit referrals.
