New Features and Enhancements

Feature or Product Area

Description

Name Structure

When LATAM localization is implemented, LATAM-specific features are enabled or disabled by the system based on the country selected during installation. This configuration is aligned with the cultural and regulatory requirements of the selected country.

To match cultural naming conventions, a specialized approach to name structures is applied. In many LATAM countries, a full name traditionally includes:

  • First Name 1

  • First Name 2

  • Paternal Surname

  • Maternal Surname

During data entry, names can be entered in either Spanish or English. These names are stored, formatted, and displayed by the system across all relevant areas, including:

  • Student records

  • Contact information

  • Staff profiles

  • Teacher rosters

  • On-screen displays

  • Printed reports

All names are presented in the correct cultural order and with the appropriate components, ensuring both accuracy and cultural authenticity.

Address Structure

The LATAM address structure is typically written in a defined format. The order is as follows:

  • Street Name

  • Number

  • Neighborhood

  • City

  • Postal Code

  • State

  • Country

Other demographic changes

The following information is captured for students, contacts, staff, and teachers:

  • Place of Birth

  • Country of Birth

  • Languages Spoken at Home

  • National ID

  • Nationality

  • Identification Documentation

  • Identification Document Number

  • Identification Document Expiry Date

  • Foreign ID/Number

The following information is captured for contacts:

  • Job Title

  • Date of Birth

  • Marital Status

  • Level of Education

  • Blood Type

  • Name of the University

  • Native Language

Object Reports

LATAM localization supports ten object reports, available in both English and Spanish. These reports include LATAM name and address elements, and additional profile attributes are added for each persona.

Power Query Data Access Tags (DATs)

Some fields are not directly accessible from the person tables in student-related object reports. Certain contact information fields are also not supported. To address this, Power Query DATs are provided for object reports.

International Installer

The installer design is built with both core and country-specific elements. This ensures that:

  • Foundational requirements for functionality are met.

  • Localization and customization needs are supported.

PowerSchool Components

Localization version 25.8.0.0 includes the localized packages for LATAM and requires PowerSchool SIS Core version 25.8.0.0 or later. Customers should contact CloudOps to request installation of the LATAM Localization package along with PowerSchool SIS Core version 25.8.0.0 or later.

The LATAM Localization package version 25.8.0.0 is automatically installed when any of the LATAM countries (listed above) is selected from the Country dropdown, and <Country> Common is chosen from the State/Province dropdown during the PowerSchool SIS Core 25.8.0.0 installation.

If a customer is using the standard PowerSchool Core (without localization enhancements) and does not wish to install Localization 25.8.0.0 or later, they must inform CloudOps in their request. This ensures CloudOps will not select any LATAM country in the Country dropdown during installation.

If a customer upgrades only to PS SIS Core 25.8.0.0 or later without installing Localization 25.8.0.0 or later, they should avoid selecting any LATAM country during the initial installation. If they later choose to install the Localization package, they can run the Localization installer, select the desired LATAM country, and the installer will apply the appropriate localizations for that country.
