New Features and Enhancements

Feature or Product Area

Description

Mexico

Mexico Name Structure

The recent implementation of Mexico localization, the system automatically activates or deactivates features specific to Mexico based on the country selection made during installation. To align with Mexico's cultural norms, the software adopts a refined approach to name structures.

In Mexico, names traditionally consist of First Name 1, First Name 2, Paternal Name, and Maternal Name. You can input names in either Spanish or English, and the system will accurately store and display these names for students, contacts, staff, and teachers in reports and on screens.

Mexico

Mexico Address Structure

The application is designed to capture and display address formats specific to Mexico, based on the user's country selection during installation. This feature significantly enhances localized support and usability.

In Mexico, the address structure adheres to a specific format, which includes the following elements: Building Number, street name, Unit number, neighborhood, Municipality, City, postal code, State, and Country.

Mexico

Other demographic changes

The system captures essential information for various personas, including students, contacts, staff, and teachers. This information encompasses:

  • Place of Birth

  • Country of Birth

  • Languages Spoken at Home

  • National ID (CURP)

  • Nationality

  • Identification Documentation

  • Identification Document Number

  • Identification Document Expiry Date

  • Foreign ID/Number

Additionally, for Contacts, the system will collect:

  • Job Title

  • Date of Birth

  • Marital Status

  • Education Level

Mexico

Currency Code

The recent implementation of Mexico localization and currency code configuration in the System Parameters at the District level ensures that the currency code PESO is clearly visible in all monetary transactions, user interfaces, and forms where amounts are recorded or displayed.

Mexico

Object Reports

Mexico's localization features ten object reports, available in both English and Spanish. These reports incorporate the necessary name and address elements specific to Mexico, along with additional profile attributes tailored for each persona.

Power Query Data Access Tags

Some fields are not directly accessible from the person tables within student-related object reports. The existing contact information data is unsupported for specific fields. To address this limitation, Power Query DATs have been introduced for Object Reports.

Mexico

SEP Reports

The SIS now features an integrated reporting capability that produces pre-formatted files in accordance with the submission requirements set by Mexico’s Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP) for the SIGED portal.

This enhancement facilitates automated report generation for the following educational levels:

  • Grades 1–6 (Primary Education)

  • Grades 7–9 (Lower Secondary Education)

  • Grades 10–12 (Upper Secondary Education)

Mexico

International Installer

The installer design integrates essential core components along with country-specific elements, ensuring that the software fulfills both fundamental functionality requirements and the necessary localization and customization needs.

PowerSchool Components

Localization version 25.5.0.0 includes the localized packages for Mexico and depends on PowerSchool SIS Core version 25.5.1.0 or higher. Customers will need to request Cloudops for installing the Mexico Localization package along with PowerSchool SIS Core version 25.5.1.0 or higher.

The Mexico Localization package version 25.5.0.0 is automatically installed when 'Mexico' is selected from the country dropdown list and 'Mexico Common' is chosen from the state/province dropdown during the PowerSchool SIS Core version 25.5.1.0 installation.

If the customer is currently using the standard PowerSchool Core version (without localization enhancements) and wishes not to install the Localization package version 25.5.0.0 or higher, they must inform Cloudops in their request. This will ensure that Cloudops does not select Mexico from the country dropdown list during installation.

If a customer plans to upgrade only to PS SIS Core 25.5.1.0 or higher and not to Localization 25.5.0.0 or higher, they should avoid selecting Mexico as the country during the initial installation. However, if they later decide to upgrade to the Localization package, they can run the Localization installer at that time, select Mexico as the country, and the installer will then install the appropriate localizations for the selected countries.
