User permissions

You can grant users access to reports at the category level. This allows them to access and run reports in the categories they have access to. Certain users can also be designated as report designers, which gives them access to edit and create report files and catalogs.

Category-level permissions

  1. Navigate to the User Roles page.

  2. Select User Access.

  3. Select a role to edit.

  4. Navigate to the Advanced Reports tab.

  5. Select the categories this role should have access to.

  6. Select Save.

Report designer permissions

  1. Navigate to the Application Access page of a staff member.

  2. Select the option Advanced Reports - Report Designer.

  3. Select Submit.

Categories

Reports on the Advanced Reports page are organized by category. You can set the category of a report when editing the report. Reports in the unpublished category are only available to report designers.

Available categories are defined by the Report Categories code set. For information on editing code sets, refer to Code Sets.

Example reports

Advanced Reports includes example reports provided by PowerSchool. These reports are located in the PowerSchool example reports category and are only available to report designers. These cannot be edited, but duplicates of these reports can be edited. These example reports can be used to show Advanced Reports functionality or as a starting point for custom reports.
