Journals in Naviance Student

Use the journal feature to enter information about your career interests, college searches, and more, then share the information with your counselor, teachers, and parents or guardians.

Parents and guardians with Naviance Student accounts can review journal entries that have been shared with them. Parents and guardians cannot add journal entries.

Manage Student Journal Entries

Add a Journal Entry

  1. From Naviance Student, select Journal from the About Me list.
  2. Click the plus icon.
  3. Select an option from the Type list to identify the type of journal entry you are adding.
  4. Enter a Subject and Notes.
  5. Choose to share with Counselors, Teachers, and My Parents. If none are selected, the journal entry is only accessible to you.
  6. Optionally, select Browse to add an attachment.
  7. Click Add.

Edit a Journal Entry

  1. From Naviance Student, select Journal from the About Me list.
  2. From Journal, choose the Subject of the journal entry to display the details above the Journal list.
  3. Select Edit from the journal details.
  4. Update the journal entry.
  5. Click Save.

Delete a Journal Entry

  1. From Naviance Student, select Journal from the About Me list.
  2. From Journal, choose the Subject of the journal entry to display the details above the Journal list.
  3. Select Remove from the journal details.
  4. Click Delete Entry.

Review Journal Entries from School Staff

  1. From Naviance Student, select Journal from the About Me list.
  2. From Private comments from your school, select the Subject of the journal to review.
