Up the Ladder
Click Review from My Work on the Explorer dashboard.
From the Up the Ladder section, click Begin a Game or Continue Game. Optionally, start or continue a game from the Up the Ladder lessons for grades 3, 4, and 5. You must earn a promotion to complete each Up The Ladder lesson.
On your first visit to Up the Ladder, you are prompted to create an avatar for your employee badge. Start as an intern and climb the ladder to boss status the more you play.
Complete activities and explore Up the Ladder to earn promotions. Spin the wheel if you are not sure where to start.
Up the Ladder activity | Description |

Career Clusters | Select one of the 16 career clusters. Then, watch a video, review activities, gauge the popularity, and access information about related career pathways to learn more about the cluster. |
My Interests | Discover what your interests are and how they relate to the world of work. Answer questions about the workplaces you like the best, and then review the suggested pathways. |
My Money | Create a budget by choosing the lifestyle you want to lead. Then, review occupations that will support that lifestyle. |
My Presentation | Answer questions about your interests and budget to create a presentation. |
Random Cluster | Let Up the Ladder introduce you to a career cluster of its choosing. Watch a video, review activities, gauge the popularity, and access information about related career pathways to learn more about the cluster. |
Random Pathway | Let Up the Ladder introduce you to a career pathway of its choosing. Review information about education, wages, and jobs, like or dislike tools that are used, and access information about related careers and pathways. Then, like or dislike the career pathway. |
Random Occupation | Let Up the Ladder introduce you to an occupation of its choosing. Review information about education, wages, interests, values, jobs, education, and activities, like or dislike tools used, and access information about related careers. Then, like or dislike the occupation. |
The occupational information used in Naviance Elementary comes from the Occupational Network (O*NET) database, developed by the United States Department of Labor, to document and describe the jobs in the American workforce.
Earn promotions
Complete activities and explore Up the Ladder to earn promotions. As you climb the ladder by liking or disliking pathways, occupations, and tools, you build your resume and earn badges. Click the ladder to learn how to earn promotions.
Be promoted from intern to associate when you:

Like three career pathways
Complete the My Interests activity.
Be promoted from associate to manager when you:
Explore ten careers.
Like five careers.
Complete the My Money activity.
Be promoted from manager to boss when you:
Complete the My Presentation activity.
Review your backpack
Click your name and status to display your backpack.
Review your work history.
Review the tools, clusters, pathways, and occupations you liked or explored.
Access your resume.
Take notes.
Optionally, click Badges to display more information about your earned badges.
Click Exit Game to return to the Explorer dashboard.
