Create a lesson
Create lessons and units to develop an assignable curriculum for students.
From Assignment Overview on your dashboard, select Create a Lesson from the Actions list. Alternatively, from the main navigation menu, select Management, Lessons, and then click Create Lesson.
Enter a name for the lesson and click Create Lesson.
From Lesson Overview and Objectives, enter the Lesson Overview and then click Next.
From Target Grades, select the Lowest Suggest Grade and the Highest Suggested Grades from the corresponding lists and click Next.
From Required Resources, enter the Materials and equipment needed and click Next.
From Standards, enter a few letters of the standard, select the desired standard from the list, and click Next.
From Student Instructions, enter the Lesson Description and Instructions and click Next.
Optionally, from Other Options, select Shared with other educators and click Next.
Optionally, add tasks to your lesson.
Click Tasks and then click Add Task.
Click a task and then enter the requested task information.
Click Submit.

Create a unit
After creating custom lessons, organize your lessons by unit.
Select Management from the main navigation menu and then choose Lessons.
Click Create Lesson and then click Create Unit.
Enter a unit name and click Create Unit.
Enter a Course Storyline and click Next.
Enter and select the lessons to include in the unit and click Next.
Optionally, from Other Options, select Shared with other educators and click Next.
Edit a lesson
Edit a lesson to make changes, access an Educator's Guide, preview, or duplicate the lesson.
From Assignment Overview on your dashboard, select Manage Lessons from the Actions list. Alternatively, select Management from the main navigation menu and then choose Lessons.
Optionally, use the search tools to find the lesson to edit.
Click View for the lesson to edit.
Select Overview, Instructions, Tasks, or Assignments, and then click Edit.
Update the lesson details and click Submit.
Optionally, from the lesson details page, click Duplicate, Preview or Print Educator Guide.
If editing a lesson that is already assigned, you must unassign and then reassign it to publish your changes. This action erases any work a student may have completed in the lesson. If you do not unassign and reassign a lesson, changes to the lesson are only shared when assigning it to new students.
Assign or unassign a lesson
Assign or unassign a lesson to students by grade, group, and more.
Students can also assign lessons to themselves from their Explorer dashboards.
From Your Users Overview on your dashboard, select Manage Users from the Actions list. Alternatively, click Management from the main navigation menu and then choose Users.
Use the search tools to find the users you want to assign or unassign the lesson.
From the footer navigation, click Assign a Lesson.
From the Assign Lessons modal, search for lessons and then click Select for the lesson to assign.
Click Assign This Lesson or Unassign This Lesson for the selected users.
Click OK to confirm the action.
Click Assign Another or Close.
Review lesson statistics
From Assignment Overview on your dashboard, review statistics such as the numbers of Completed Assignments, Approved Assignments, and Unfinished Assignments.
Review and approve assignments
Navigate to Assignment Overview on your dashboard.
From Things to action, click Review now to display a list of unfinished or unapproved assignments.
From the list of unapproved assignments, click View to display the student's assignment responses and then click Approve or Reject.
Optionally, from Key statistics, click View here to display lists of distinct lessons and completed or approved assignments.
After students submit a lesson and you approve it, the lesson becomes read-only for the student. You cannot re-open a lesson for students to complete again.
