Description

Communicate Form Approval Status to Parents

A new Approval Status setting is available that, when enabled, communicates the approval status of form submissions on the Family Portal dashboard. Given a form submission is in Pending Approval, its status is communicated as Pending Review. Given a form submission is Approved, its status is communicated as Approved along with its latest approval date. This setting is configured by PowerSchool Enrollment Support on a form-by-form basis.

Enhanced Family Account Search

The Family Accounts search now supports the ability to search for parent accounts based on the student’s date of birth, parent first name, parent last name, parent email address, and/or parent cell phone. The ability to search by parent cell phone is contingent on Cell Phone Accounts being enabled for the district. Searching by the student’s date of birth enforces the use of the mm/dd/yyyy date format. The results are now paginated, and the user can change how many results are viewed per page.

Name Field Length Increase

In preparation for upcoming changes in PowerSchool SIS, the maximum length for the first name and last name fields for students, parents, and school or district administrators has been increased to 100 characters. This impacts student names within parent accounts, account holder names of parent accounts, and account holder names of school or district administrator accounts.

This does not impact the maximum length of any form field. The default maximum length of text fields within forms is still 50 characters. The maximum length of any text field within a form can be changed through the Form Builder.

Description

Admin - Background Job Error Handling

When errors or timeouts occurred in stored procedures or background jobs related to data container records, roster records, submission records, delivery records, year-round update submission records, year-round update delivery records, recommendation request records, recommendation submission records, or checklist entries, the errors were not reported with enough specific detail and partial data changes were still committed to the database. This issue has been resolved. Errors in these areas are now reported with additional diagnostic detail and any partially committed changes are rolled back.

Admin - Background Job Timeouts

Errors and timeouts occurred intermittently across stored procedures and background jobs related to data container records, roster records, submission records, delivery records, year-round update submission records, year-round update delivery records, recommendation request records, recommendation submission records, and checklist entries. Improvements have been made to the database transaction handling to minimize the possibility of these errors and command timeouts have been increased for these stored procedures.

Admin - Reorder Waitlist Audit Log Entry

When reordering a waitlist in the School Choice Workspace, the student’s choice was removed from the waitlist and then reinserted. An audit log entry was created for the removal along with child entries for the downstream impacts related to the removal, and another audit log entry was created for the reinsertion but without any child entries documenting the downstream impacts related to the reinsertion. This issue has been resolved.

Now, when reordering a waitlist in the School Choice Workspace, the student’s choice is simply reordered within the waitlist and a single audit log entry is created for the reorder along with child entries for the downstream impacts related to the reorder.

Admin - Sibling Seated Preference

When a sibling’s choice’s priority is updated mid-lottery processing due to Sibling Seated Preference, an audit log entry is created documenting the change in priority, but the priority is not changed. This issue has been resolved.

Parent - Start Private Form without Date of Birth

Given a roster record did not include date of birth and given Date of Birth Authentication was disabled on the form, when the parent attempted to start the form, the parent was informed the date of birth was missing and was unable to proceed. This issue has been resolved.

Parent - Update Cell Phone Account Profile

If the parent account was a cell phone-based account, the parent was unable to update their account profile information. This issue has been resolved.
