How to add a position
Add a position in Allovue Budget 1.0
Under the Position Plan, Select Add Position.
Determine the number of position types you’d like to create.
You can create up to 10 at once as vacant positions and assign an employee later.
If you know which employee will fill that position, you can begin typing their name or employee ID into the choose employee box. Once you’ve chosen an employee, you’ll be able to see that employee’s actual salary and benefits amounts.
To create a vacant position, leave the Employee field blank and you can assign an employee at a later date.
Enter the job type or job code for the position, (ie Principal or STEM Teacher). After choosing an option, you’ll see the average salary and benefits for that job.
Enter in the FTE (1.0 for full-time, or a value between 0 and 1 for a partial FTE).
Fill in the position ID (optional). This is usually a number from your district’s HR system.
If you know which allocation should fund this position, click the ‘add funding’ button before clicking ‘next’.
You can fund a position out of multiple allocations, just click ‘add funding’ for each and adjust the percentages of funding to split funding appropriately.
Select the next button.
If you chose a funding source in step 7, enter the account code segments that aren’t already locked. You can type the code or the name, and then select the suggested result that you mean. All of the segments must be filled in to proceed.
If you are split-funding this position, repeat steps 9 and 10 for each funding source.
Assign a strategy to that position if it’s appropriate ( optional). Select + add strategy and begin typing the name of one of the strategies you created. You must first establish strategies in the Priorities and Strategies section. You can assign the full cost to one strategy or split it between a few.
Select the next button.
Review the details for the position and add notes that might be important to HR or your budget director. Select save to see your position added to the staff roster.
