Formulas Page

Formulas Page Overview:

Formulas are a combination of rules and when combined with Enrollment Projections, Formulas model Scenarios in Allocate. On the Formulas page, users can configure new Formulas and access previously configured formulas in Allocate.

Create a new formula

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Select + New Formula.

  3. Enter the data into the form provided.

  4. Select Save.

Once your formula is created, you will need to define the rules for the formula.

Formula Rules

Rule Name

Details

Gross Dollar Allocation

Allocates a total dollar amount to all selected organizations

Proportional Allocation

Allocates a total dollar amount proportionally across a sub-enrollment to all seleced organizations

Per-Pupil Dollar Allocation

Allocates a dollar amount to all selected organizations, per-total pupils enrolled

Subgroup Per-Pupil Dollar Allocation

Allocates a dollar amount to all selected organizations, per-subgroup-eligible pupils enrolled

Job Type Based Dollar Allocation

Allocates a dollar amount to all selected organizations, per selected types of employee

Staffing Allocation

Allocates a selected quantity of FTEs to all selected organizations

Ratio-Based Staffing Allocation

Allocates FTEs per number of students to all selected organizations

Subgroup Ratio-Based Staffing Allocation

Allocates FTEs per number of sub-group-eligible students to all selected organizations

Job Type Based Staffing Allocation

Allocates FTEs per number of employees of selected types to all selected organizations

Manual Dollar Adjustment

Allocates or takes away a dollar amount from specific organization(s)

Manual Staffing Adjustment

Allocates a specific quantity of FTEs of a single Job Type to one or more selected organizations

Budget-Based Dollar Allocation

Allocates a dollar amount to all selected organizations, based on prior year budgets

Create a Formula Rule

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Navigate to the desired rule and select the eye icon.

    1. For New Rules, + New Formula will bring you to this step.

  3. Select + New Rule.

  4. From the menu, select the desired rule type.

  5. Enter the data in the provided form.

  6. Select Save.

Manual Dollar Adjustment and Manual Staffing Adjustment can be configured in the form step, or they can be uploaded.

Upload Manual Dollar Adjustment

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Navigate to the desired rule and select the eye icon.

    1. For New Rules, + New Formula will bring you to this step.

  3. Select Upload Manual Dollar Adjustment.

  4. Select Download CSV Template.

  5. Enter the data in the template.

  6. Drag your file and select Upload.

  7. Map your fields.

  8. Select Review and Confirm.

  9. Select Save.

Upload Manual Staffing Adjustment

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Navigate to the desired rule and select the eye icon.

    1. For New Rules, + New Formula will bring you to this step.

  3. Select Upload Manual Staffing Adjustment.

  4. Select Download CSV Template.

  5. Enter the data in the template.

  6. Drag your file and select Upload.

  7. Map your fields.

  8. Select Review and Confirm.

  9. Select Save.

Access a formula

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Navigate to the desired formula and select the eye icon.

In each formula, you will be able to edit or delete rules associated with the formula.

Duplicate a formula

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Navigate to the desired formula and select the copy icon.

  3. If desired, you may modify the formula.

  4. Select Duplicate.

  5. Enter the data into the form provided.

  6. Select Save.

Delete a formula

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Navigate to the desired formula and select the trash can icon.

  3. Select OK.

Edit Formula Rules

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Navigate to the desired formula and select the eye icon.

  3. Navigate to the desired rule and select the pencil icon.

  4. Modify the fields provided in the form.

  5. Select Save.

Delete Formula Rules

  1. In Allocate, select Formulas.

  2. Navigate to the desired formula and select the trash can icon.

  3. Select OK.
