Code Sets

A Language code set is now available to populate the values that appear in the new Preferred Language field on the Demographics page within Contact Details. An import file has been provided to quickly add values to the code set.

A Preferred Language field is now available in the Demographics section of the Contact Details page. This field is also available in the Import/Export, API, and DAT functions.

Counselor Role

Further enhancements were added to the counselor role, allowing admins to do complex mass assignments of counselors, including a mass replacement or searching for all students that do not have an assigned counselor. The mass assign screen now warns users when they will overwrite data, and the removal of a counselor role is blocked if there are students assigned to admins using that role. The admin portal has been updated to show a student's counselor assignment in the detail line. Import/export was updated to support counselor content.

Data Access Tags are now available for the fields related to student counselors, both a list of available counselors and student counselor assignments.

The Immunization Rules Engine has been removed from the Core PowerSchool application and will be part of the PowerSchool SIS State/Provincial Reporting installer. The Immunization Rules Engine has been updated and can now calculate vaccine compliance by CVX code.

Student Groups

Teachers can create groups of students across their classes in PowerTeacher Pro and use that group to create assignments, run reports, and navigate their gradebook, providing teachers better visibility into student success.

Currently, student groups are available only for production servers. After upgrading, contact Support if Student Groups is not available when logged into PowerTeacher Pro as a teacher.

While PowerSchool SIS is getting this feature first, student groups have been designed for use in multiple PowerSchool products. In order to use this exciting capability, student groups are stored in the cloud and require an internet connection. Refer to the System Requirements for additional information.
