For teachers with numerous classes, loading the Assignments List for these teachers would take an extended period of time in some cases.

Previously, when using the Collected Only score type and Auto-Calculate Assignment Standards Scores options in a particular order, all Standards Scores for individual assignments were erased if the teacher recalculated the Final Grades using the Advanced Option.

To resolve this, teachers cannot select Auto-Calculate Assignment Standards Scores if an assignment has the Collected Only score type.

SAML as IdP

When using SAML as Identity Provider (IdP), users may be unable to login into PowerSchool SIS if the IdP has a long assertion lifespan, which is common when using Microsoft Azure SAML. An example of such an issue is students that are unable to log into the public portal or PowerSchool mobile app after answering Yes to the Stay Signed In dialog when using Microsoft SAML.

As part of this release two advanced options have been exposed on the SAML Service Provider configuration page:

  • forceAuth - This setting should be enabled if your SAML IdP supports forceAuth and has a long assertion lifespan. When enabled PowerSchool SIS will force re-authentication against the SAML IdP if the SAML assertion is no longer valid.

  • Assertion Subject NameIdentifier - By default PowerSchool SIS uses the authenticationId attribute from the SAML response to access the state-id or psguid value. This setting allows customers to change the attribute PowerSchool SIS evaluates from the SAML Response.

When this value is blank authenticationId is used.

PSF-58332

Student Bell Schedule

The shading on the Student Bell Schedule and Enter Attendance pages was inconsistent.

PSF-18631

System

PowerSchool SIS (OLTP) may still use more CPU than expected, impacting performance even after upgrading to PowerSchool SIS 21.11.0.0 in some cases. This addresses additional issues not resolved in the PowerSchool SIS 21.11.0.0 release.

PSF-59222

After upgrading to PowerSchool 21.11.0.0, the PowerSchool Monitor may show a certificate error.

PSF-58489

When editing a previous enrollment record on Transfer Information and submitting the changes, the current enrollment record displayed zeros for values in the Entry Date/Code, Exit Date/Code, and Grade fields, and the Entry Comment was blank until the page was refreshed.

PSF-59159

PowerSchool Components

PowerSchool SIS is comprised of several software components, each versioned independently from one another. This allows for greater flexibility of component updates as new features and bug fixes become available. Some updates may include dependencies between components. These dependencies will be communicated and built into the component update installers to prevent PowerSchool SIS from being misconfigured.
