Custom Links

Custom links added to the student or staff menus will automatically append a student or staff frn query parameter to the URL if one is not provided. This change is specific to the Enhanced UI.

Custom Links

Expired medications can now be hidden by checking a new "Hide Expired Medications" check box. This setting will persist across (user) login sessions.

All Notes & Comment fields on the Add/Edit Office Visits screen have been lengthened from 512 characters to 2048 characters.

UTF-8 characters no longer print as a # character when using the Download as PDF option on the Attendance and Health Dashboards.

Manage Profile

The default Sign In Page preference is now named Home Page. Users with this preference set to a page other than the Start Page should review their preferences as many classic pages have been decommissioned from the navigation.

This change is specific to the Enhanced UI.

The ScheduleTeacherAssignments table now contains a SchoolId column. The default list of records is automatically filtered to the current school when using the Update Selection function.

The PowerScheduler Commit process has been improved:

  • The commit process will not run if Attendance or Assignments exist for the year being committed.

  • Additional validations have been added to skip committing invalid data.

  • An error message will show at the end of the commit if the number of CC or Sections records does not match the number of non-skipped records.

Commit the Master Schedule

The System Report pages can now be marked as favorites. This does not include compliance specific reports. This change is specific to the Enhanced UI.

The Third-Party library used for SFTP connections has been updated to support newer key exchange, ciphers, and host keys.

Important Note: Existing SFTP connections may fail after upgrading to PowerSchool SIS until the SFTP connections are re-validated and new host keys accepted. This is done using the Test Connection option of the Remote Connection Manager setup screen.

Success Pages

Instances where success messaging was displayed on an independent page will now show the success messaging in a banner on the same page. A few outlier pages will be addressed in future releases.

Resolved Issues

Product Area

The PowerSchool SIS API will no longer cause invalid data when using the /ws/v1/student/test endpoint.

Assigning a Global ID to a parent's account will no longer cause a complexity rules error for their password when OIDC is enabled.

Courses will now appear in their proper course group, instead of the Additional Request group when mass-adding course requests for students.

Data Access Tags

The ~(yearname) and ~(yearabbr) DATs no longer have a trailing space.

Data Import Manager

The TEST: Student Test table will now appear as an option in the Import Into dropdown menu on the Data Import Manager page.

Enhanced UI

The Export Using Template and Data Import Manager links show correctly when a user only has access to the /admin/importexport/home.html page.

Fee records delete as expected when using the DDA mass modify delete function.

Graduation Plan Progress

The Graduation Plan Progress page will now assign credits to the appropriate requirement group.

Immunization dates that were not entered in the correct chronological order can now be corrected (and submitted) without end users needing to first clear the dose dates, submit the change, and re-enter the dose dates in the desired order.

The sort order for the 3rd level of an Incident Behavior Code is now displaying properly.

An admin using the mobile web pages to view the teacher's class roster will now see the student's name below their picture.

OIDC Authentication

When using OIDC Authentication the PowerSchool SIS timeout is now honored. When a user session times out the user will be prompted to re-authenticate with the OIDC provider. This security change helps ensure an unauthorized user cannot utilize an authorized users browser to access PowerSchool SIS without being re-authenticated.

Meal transactions will now calculate correctly for meals with a price of 0.00. If the Second Breakfast or Second Lunch is blank, not 0, then the first price will be used.

A New button will no longer appear when clicking on the word Periods in the breadcrumb to refresh that page.

Quick Import

Header rows will now be mandatory when importing test results.

The Grade Count by Teacher report will now display accurate results when running it for a single teacher.

The Suppress Classes For This Term From Parent/Student Users value on existing terms is no longer removed when copying the master schedule if the Clear Existing Scheduling Terms in the Destination School Year option is not selected.

School Setup

Performance has been improved when editing a Term where the First Day or Last Day do not change.

The following changes have been made when activating the Enable OIDC Authentication box on the OIDC Authentication Setup Page:

  • The Identify Provider Global ID field will only display for Staff, Teachers, Contacts, and Students when OIDC is enabled and the IDP URL is populated.

  • The Identity Provider Global ID field is not required if the OIDC Authentication is not enabled for the various user types.

  • The User Name and Password fields will be hidden if OIDC is enabled for that user type.

  • The SSO User Mapping module in Data Import Manager will only be listed if OIDC Authentication is configured.

Security Groups

Users will no longer see “An error occurred. Contact your system administrator.” error when clicking on Configure Page Permissions.

Student and Staff Menus

The student or staff member's name from the selection carousel will now print on the page. This fix is specific to the Enhanced UI.

The String Key Not Found message has been replaced by the Message Key Was Not Found message throughout the system. This text is generally seen in a customized page when the page is out of date, or an invalid message key is used.

PowerSchool Components

PowerSchool SIS comprises several software components, each versioned independently. Independent versioning allows for greater flexibility of component updates as new features and bug fixes become available. Some updates may include dependencies between components. These dependencies will be communicated and built into the component update installers to prevent PowerSchool SIS from being misconfigured. The following table identifies the version number for each PowerSchool SIS component in this release compared to the previous release:

Version Number

PowerSchool SIS Server

Desktop PowerScheduler
