New Features and Enhancements
Feature or Product Area
The Bell Schedule Setup page has been updated to reflect if an invalid period is defined. As part of this change HTML popups that are created server side will indicate “Currently saved value not found in dropdown options. (xxxxx)” if the value currently defined on the record is not present in the dropdown as this represents potentially bad data.
|Data Access Tag (DAT)
|Student Email, Global ID, and Race Codes (comma separated) values are now accessible using the following Data Access Tags (DAT). Learn more in episode 125 of the PowerSchool Insider.
Customizers can now also implement their own basic PowerQuery-based Data Access Tags (DAT) as documented on the PowerSchool Developer site.
|End of Year
|The validation mode of End of Year has been improved to provide more details:
|The Apache ActiveMQ library has been updated to version 184.108.40.206. Note: As part of this upgrade only the wrapper.log will be populated instead of the activemq.log.
|A user will be required to provide details when triggering a server restart from the user interface to capture the reasons for doing so.
|The getClassesForTeacher OneRoster endpoint is now available in Universal Rostering.
|A user with an admin and teacher account, with the Meeting Attendance preference selected in the teacher portal profile, will no longer be redirected to the start page when selecting the Student Attendance page in the Admin portal.
|In some rare cases, the wrong user will no longer be recorded in Change History.
|Updating a contact to make them inactive will now disable the Web Account Access if it is enabled. You no longer have to do so separately.
|The wrong course name no longer shows when selecting a course from the Courses screen.
|The Student Programs Dashboard widget no longer fails to load when the Student Program name contains an apostrophe.
|Data validation has been improved for Boolean-based Database Extension fields. Values that fail validation now result in a single more consistent message instead of two or more messages.
|End of Year
|Customers in a state-wide PowerSchool SIS deployment or those that use PowerSchool Enrollment will no longer experience a unique constraint violated error PS.REENROLLMENTS_U3 during the End-of-Year process.
|The following fixes have been made for Enterprise Reporting/APEX:
|Graduation Plan Progress
|Earned required credits for an ACP program were not reflected correctly in Graduation Plan Progress.
|Teacher Race now imports as expected using Teacher Number or Teacher Name.
|Newly created actions will now remain when it is added in the Incident Builder section while editing an existing Incident.
|Mobile push notifications will validate the Parent/Student Access Term setting on the Parent/Student Access setup page. If an invalid term is present, such as a value from a previous year, the term used will default to the term the public portal uses when logging in.
|A more comprehensive message will appear when hovering the mouse pointer over the Lock icon on the Modify Schedule page: The section is locked and can only be Rescheduled at the school the course originates from.
|Users will no longer experience an error when attempting to edit an existing Health - Office Visit.
|The performance of the Student Scheduling Setup page has been improved when accessed at the District Office.
|The wrong room description will no longer appear on the Room Free Constraint page when the same room number exists at multiple schools.
|PowerSchool Admin - System
|Teacher automated emails no longer show in the subject line when a student changes sections.
|PowerTeacher Pro - Teachers
Teachers can now add assignments to a class in a different school than their home school.
|Users will no longer experience a validation error due to different date formats between the server and the user in the various attendance modules.
|The teacher's Seating Chart page will now load properly when a combined sections chart exists.
|PowerSchool will validate URL parameters used to access records, such as FRN and ID, to ensure they match the expected numeric format. If the format is not valid a security error will occur.
|The error message on the Admin Access and Roles Tab page has been improved when a role has not been defined at the home school.
|Users will no longer experience login issues into PowerSchool SIS due to an errant space after the Secure flag on the PowerSchool Session cookie, when used in conjunction with the Microsoft Application Proxy.
An invalid screen id error will no longer appear after selecting a Staff Custom Screen when switching Staff.
|The photo icon (thumbnail) size will now be the same whether it is uploaded from the student screen or if it is imported via the photo management import process.
|Additional protection has been added to the Student/Teacher selection when multiple browser tabs are open.
|Following the Content Security Policy (CSP) changes made in the 220.127.116.11 release, these issues have been identified and resolved:
|Users will no longer receive an incorrect password message if the user submits the password change page multiple times.
|The Validate button in the Student Addresses page no longer appears for admin users with view-only access to the page.
A schema update failure for PSF-69026 occurs on startup. This error does not impact PowerSchool SIS functionality and will be addressed in a future release.
PowerSchool SIS comprises several software components, each versioned independently. This allows for greater flexibility of component updates as new features and bug fixes become available. Some updates may include dependencies between components. These dependencies will be communicated and built into the component update installers to prevent PowerSchool SIS from being misconfigured. The following table identifies the version number for each PowerSchool SIS component in this release compared to the previous release:
