The Grade Settings will be visible if the Multiple Categories, Limit Categories, and Minimum Assignment Value feature has been enabled by your district administrator for your school.
Use the Grade Settings to enable selecting multiple categories for specific classes.
-
From the main navigation menu, choose Traditional Grade Calculations.
-
Click the gear icon, and select Grade Settings.
-
Select the class.
-
Select Multiple Categories to attach a secondary category while creating an assignment.
-
Final grades are recalculated whenever the Multiple Categories setting is changed. If Multiple Categories is disabled, any secondary category is ignored and not used in the calculation. This field is not editable.
-
Limit the categories that can be used for a class so that only those included in the class’s grade calculation formula are displayed when creating an assignment.
The option can be enabled or disabled by the teacher, provided the teacher has the necessary permissions. For more information, visit, PowerTeacher Pro.
Enable Minimum Assignment Value
If the district administrator enabled the Minimum Assignment Value feature and set a value greater than zero, a Minimum Assignment Value section is displayed.
-
The Minimum Assignment Value set by the administrator (read-only) and would be considered as the threshold percentage for automatic assignment score adjustments.
-
An Enable Minimum Assignment Value checkbox is displayed, if the administrator granted permission to enable or disable this setting for classes.
Enable Minimum Assignment Value:
Navigation: Settings, Traditional Grade Calculations, Settings (gear icon), Grade Settings.
-
Select the class.
-
In the Minimum Assignment Value section, select the Enable Minimum Assignment Value checkbox.
-
Click Save.
When enabled, the system automatically adjusts any assignment score lower than the minimum value to the minimum value and sends a notification that the score was adjusted. Automatic adjustment applies to all score entry methods, including manual entry, score import, and scores received from external systems.
Disable Minimum Assignment Value:
-
Clear the Enable Minimum Assignment Value checkbox.
Disabling the minimum assignment value does not change existing scores that were previously adjusted to the minimum value.
-
Click Save.
Once the minimum assignment value is disabled, scores lower than the former minimum value are accepted as-is. If the checkbox is disabled (read-only), the administrator has not granted permission to change this setting. Contact the school or district administrator to enable or disable Minimum Assignment Value for classes. The Minimum Assignment Value section does not appear if the feature is disabled at the district level or if the administrator-defined minimum value is zero.
