Comment Bank

The Comment Bank displays the personal comments and district comments available when you add scores and comments to assignments and final grades.

  1. Click the gear icon, then choose Show Filter.
  2. Click the tabs to toggle between My Comments and District Comments.

Add A Comment to My Comments

  1. From the main navigation menu, choose Settings, then Comment Bank.
  2. Select the My Comments tab.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Enter a comment Code and Category.
  5. By default, Favorite is selected to mark this comment as a favorite. Clear the selection to remove this comment from your list of favorites.
  6. Enter the comment. Choose a Smart Text option to insert a name or pronoun in the comment's context.

Smart text options allow you to add names or pronouns to the context of the general comments, which personalizes comments for each student. For example, "<first name> listens well in class. <He/She> participates in class discussions" will display as "Kate listens well in class. She participates in class discussions."

  7. Review the applied smart text for accuracy and make any necessary changes before proceeding.
  8. Click Save. The changes or additions will display in the Comment Bank on the Score Inspector.

Manage Comments

  1. From the main navigation menu, choose Settings, then Comment Bank.
  2. Select the My Comments tab.
  3. To modify a comment, click Edit, or to remove a comment, click Edit, then click Delete.

Favorite Comments

On the My Comments or District Comments tab, click on the star icon to mark a comment as a favorite. Favorite comments will display first in the comment list on the Score Inspector.

Import Comments from PowerTeacher Gradebook

If you previously used PowerTeacher Gradebook, you can import the personal comments without manually entering them in PowerTeacher Pro.

Before you add comments to My Comments in PowerTeacher Pro, you can perform a one-time migration of your PowerTeacher Gradebook comments to PowerTeacher Pro. If you created comments in PowerTeacher Pro but want to migrate your PowerTeacher Gradebook comments, you must delete the comments in PowerTeacher Pro to access the PowerTeacher Gradebook migration option.

On the Comment Bank page, click Import my PTG Comments.
