Update Course Staff

Use the Update Course Staff page to make bulk changes to staff assigned to courses. You can either reassign staff or assign additional staff to course sections.

Reassign course staff

Reassigning course staff replaces the current staff assigned to a course section with selected replacements.

  1. Navigate to the Update Course Staff page.

  2. Select Reassign course staff.

  3. Select one or more staff members currently assigned to the course.

  4. If needed, set Current staff end date to the date the reassignment will occur.

  5. Select the course sections to update staff for.

  6. Select staff to replace the current staff. You can assign the same replacement staff for all selected sections, or choose replacements by section.

  7. Review the details of the reassignment for accuracy.
    You can add notes for each section to include relevant information about the update. Any notes added are available for review on the Course Section page next to the staff record.

  8. Select Reassign.

Assign additional course staff

Assigning additional course staff adds staff to course sections for the specified role and allocation. Since every course section requires a lead staff to be assigned at creation, you can't assign lead staff for course sections using this page. To change the lead staff, use the Reassign course staff option.

  1. Navigate to the Update Course Staff page.

  2. Select Assign additional course staff.

  3. Select the Term for the assignment.
    This will determine what course sections are available in the section selection step.

  4. Choose staff to assign, and then enter the Role, their Allocation to the course, and when their assignment starts and ends.
    The start and end dates default to the start and end dates of the selected term.

  5. Select which course sections to assign the staff to.
    You can use the filters and search to narrow the list of course sections.

  6. Review the details of the assignment for accuracy.
    You can add notes for each section to include relevant information about the update. Any notes added are available for review on the Course Section page next to the staff record.

  7. Select Assign.
